Why It’s Easier to Succeed With Marketing Than You Might Think

Success. Everybody wants success, right? From financial to social, physical to family, I can dare to say that every single person looks for it. After all, it’s the compensation we get for the hard work we put to it. But, as we all also know, it is not easy to get success. It’s a common thought that success is hard to reach, even impossible sometimes; and it happens with every type of success.

When it comes to marketing, it’s no different. People fear it. They think that they will never succeed at it or that it might be too hard. But let me tell you something, they are not only wrong, but also, wrong. What if I told you it can be easy? If you follow these little steps I’m going to tell you today, the game will change for you.

1. Lose the fear

As with pretty much everything, the first step to succeed is to lose the fear. Start believing more in yourself and your ideas. Have a positive mindset. Forget all that people said about marketing being hard. Have an open mind. Be focused. Be disciplined. Lose that fear.  After all, mind over matter.

2. Be clear

To create your vision, purpose, and objectives, and for them to be successful,  you have to be clear of what you want.

Goals

First of all, you have to set your goals; I don’t mean goals like creating an extensive email list, or a website. This is not about partial objectives. Yes, they might be helpful to make plans and such, but they aren’t the objectives that will motivate you to succeed.  They aren’t big enough, exciting enough or important enough.

They have to be “life goals”

These are the key to your motivation, which is a key to your success in any area. When my father opened his business 15 years ago, he created a list of “life goals” that has kept him motivated to this day. I’m going to show you some of them, but that doesn’t mean they have to match yours, take this as inspiration.

  1. He wanted to be independent in his job. And, he was tired to work for others. He wanted his own game
  2. He wanted to be financially independent. And, he wanted to be comfortable and able to offer his future family stability.
  3. He wanted his personal life to be integrated with his job.
  4. He wanted to work in a peaceful environment.

These goals that directly affected his personal life were the ones that motivated him to take his business to the top. Marketing is a strategy to do so. Now you can see the relation; if you have a reason to be motivated, you will put your 100% into everything. In this case, that everything is Marketing. Those Marketing goals like creating an email list or  a web page will eventually be the pillars of those “life goals”.

Believe me, you won’t be successful in marketing until you see it as a tool to reach your “life goals” instead of just a tool.

3. Listen

Want to be successful in marketing? Listen to your customers. The majority of business, either don’t listen to their customers or cut them off when they are getting too critical. That’s really not the way to go. Remember, critics are the best connection we have to our buyers, the most important figures in our business. After all, they are the one who we have to please.

When we listen to them, we can know exactly what they want and how they want it. With this, we can also shape our campaigns and ads in order to make them more appealing to them. So, who can be that stupid to ignore them? Please don’t be.

4. It’s all about the price

There’s no better marketing strategy than offers, discounts, coupons, and such. Am I not right? We are all suckers for those. A successful seller proposes deals to the customers, after all, sales depends on the value that is being offered for the service. This also makes the customer see the brand and become a permanent customer. Offers are a great way in which customers can try out more about your brand in one shot and start loving it.

Also, every business has to know that at first, the objective is not to obtain a big profit but to make lifelong customers. The way to do this, well, as I said before: deals.

5. Viable planning

Yes, we all know that for marketing, we have to make a plan. But what we always don’t take into account is the viability of the plan. When making it, take into consideration that money doesn’t fall from the sky; it comes straight from your pocket. If you make an extremely ambitious plan, it will just stay a plan, therefore, no ideas will actually become real.

Not only money wise, marketing takes time. So, when you are doing that plan, you have to also remember the maximum capacity you can offer. Don’t plan for strategies in impossible lapses of time. Again, don’t be extremely ambitious or your plans will stay plans. Now you see it’s not that hard? After telling you all of this, I think you can summarize that the main global thing you need, in order to be successful is the desire. If you set your mind to it, and follow all these little secrets I gave you, I can assure you that you’ll be successful with marketing.
